Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I'm Aly!

I’m a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with over 14 years of experience working with children. I specialize in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), developmental language disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and executive functioning. My approach is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming, child-led practices that celebrate each child’s unique strengths. As a mom of two young children (ages 5 and 3), I strive to create a warm, collaborative environment where children and their families feel empowered, respected, and understood. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!

Why I love what I do:

I love building meaningful connections with my clients and empowering their families, working together as a team to celebrate each child’s unique strengths and growth.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I'm excited to help children apply their skills and growth in everyday life, where it matters most to their families.

What does a Speech Therapist Do?

Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:
Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them

Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas

Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns

Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech

Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

How my practice is special

one
Neurodiversity-Affirming, Child-Led Care

My therapy style is guided by the child’s interests and strengths while honoring each child's unique personality and neurodiversity. This approach celebrates individuality and supports meaningful growth in a way that feels natural and empowering.

two
Strengths-Focused Development

Rather than focusing on limitations, treatment builds on what each child already does well. This strengths-based perspective helps foster confidence, motivation, and long-term skill development

three
Warm, Family-Centered Environment

As both a clinician and a parent, I prioritize creating a supportive, collaborative space where children and families feel respected, understood, and actively involved in the therapy process.
