Andi Gurba – Pediatric Speech Therapist in Stockton, NJ

Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I’m Andi!

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 16 years of experience, specializing in supporting preschool and elementary-aged children. I am PROMPT trained and certified in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), with advanced training in PECS, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). My passion is helping children communicate with confidence while supporting families every step of the way. Working as an independent clinician with Coral Care, I value the flexibility to focus on my two greatest priorities: faith and family.

Why I love what I do:

I love the flexibility of my work and the opportunity to help people communicate with confidence!

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I especially enjoy in-home therapy because it allows me to coach, teach, and support families with carryover strategies in everyday life.

What does a Speech Therapist Do?

Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction.

SLPs focus on:
Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them

Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas

Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns

Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech

Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.

Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

How my practice is special

one
Total Communication, Individualized Approach

I believe in total communication and recognize that no single technique fits every child or family. I tailor therapy based on each child’s strengths, needs, and learning style to ensure the most effective support.

two
Flexible, Differentiated Therapy Style

I adapt my approach between play-based and more structured therapy as needed, using patience and responsiveness to match each child’s developmental and communication needs.

three
Balanced, Thoughtful Clinical Judgment

While I value creative, out-of-the-box strategies, I also recognize the importance of consistency and repetition when appropriate, carefully balancing innovation with foundational skill-building.
