Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I’m Clare!

I’m a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist with over four years of experience supporting children ages 18 months to 21 with autism and other neurodivergent needs. I specialize in helping individuals understand and express their unique communication styles while building meaningful connections. I take a family-centered approach, working closely with caregivers to create individualized therapy plans, support enriching opportunities, and ensure advocacy is at the heart of every service I provide.

Why I love what I do:

What I love most about my job is using creativity, especially through technology, to support families in meaningful ways, and I’m passionate about navigating complex situations to ensure children and their families have the resources they need to thrive.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I’m excited about in-home therapy because it allows me to support children in the environments where they feel most comfortable and where communication naturally occurs, while collaborating closely with families, modeling strategies in real time, and creating practical, individualized interventions that carry over into daily routines!

What does a Speech Therapist Do?

Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction.

SLPs focus on:
Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them

Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas

Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns

Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech

Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.

Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.
