Debora Ridener – Pediatric Occupational Therapist in San Antonio, TX

Helping Kids Thrive with Occupational Therapy

Hi, I’m Debora Ridener

I'm a pediatric Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of experience in outpatient clinics, Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), and school settings. I’ve worked with children from birth through age 20 with a wide range of developmental needs and diagnoses. I’m passionate about providing family-centered, individualized care that helps children build the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Why I love what I do:

I love how pediatric occupational therapy turns learning into play, helping children build everyday skills while partnering with families to celebrate meaningful milestones and lasting progress.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I love supporting children in their natural environments, where I can create practical, individualized strategies using their everyday routines, toys, and spaces to help families confidently carry skills over between sessions.

What does an Occupational Therapist Do?

Occupational therapists support children in building everyday skills—so they can grow, play, and be more independent. If your child struggles with things like getting dressed, using utensils, paying attention, or staying calm in new situations, an OT can help.

OTs focus on:

Fine motor skills – like holding a pencil, buttoning a shirt, or using scissors

Sensory processing – supporting kids who are extra sensitive to sounds, textures, or movement (or don’t seem to notice them at all)

Emotional regulation – helping kids manage big feelings and focus at school or home

Independence and daily skills – like brushing teeth, tying shoes, potty training, or washing hands.

Occupational therapy supports kids at home, at school, and in everyday life—so they can feel confident and capable in the things they do every day.
