Helping Kids Thrive with Occupational Therapy

Hi, I'm Jatavia

I'm an Occupational Therapist with many years of experience supporting children from birth through age 17. I specialize in working with children with autism, developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, feeding difficulties, and fine motor and self-care skills. I take a personalized, play-based approach to therapy and partner closely with families to create meaningful, individualized treatment plans that support each child’s growth, confidence, and independence at home, school, and in the community.

Why I love what I do:

I love helping children build skills that support confidence and independence in their daily lives while partnering with families to celebrate every milestone, big or small.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I’m excited about home health because it allows therapy to be highly individualized and meaningful, provides valuable insight into a child’s daily routines and challenges, supports effective and family-centered care, and helps children feel comfortable and confident in their own environment as they grow into school and community settings.

What does a Occupational Therapist Do?

Occupational therapists support children in building everyday skills—so they can grow, play, and be more independent. If your child struggles with things like getting dressed, using utensils, paying attention, or staying calm in new situations, an OT can help. OTs focus on:

Fine motor skills – like holding a pencil, buttoning a shirt, or using scissors

Sensory processing – supporting kids who are extra sensitive to sounds, textures, or movement (or don’t seem to notice them at all)

Emotional regulation – helping kids manage big feelings and focus at school or home

Independence and daily skills – like brushing teeth, tying shoes, potty training, or washing hands.Occupational therapy supports kids at home, at school, and in everyday life—so they can feel confident and capable in the things they do every day
