Hi, I’m Jodi Kobernick
I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 25 years of experience in early intervention, school-based services, and pediatric therapy, specializing in child-centered, strengths-based care for autistic children, AAC users, gestalt language processors, and children with speech and social communication differences, while partnering closely with families to support meaningful communication growth.

I love discovering each child’s strengths and interests, building meaningful connections, and helping them become confident communicators while partnering with families and educating caregivers to support communication beyond therapy.

I love in-home therapy because it provides a natural, supportive environment where children can build communication skills and confidence that carry over into school and community settings.
What does a Speech Therapist Do?
Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:
• Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them
• Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas
• Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns
• Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech
• Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.
