Lakeisha Fields - Pediatric Speech Therapist in Midlothian

Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I'm Lakeisha

I'm a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with extensive experience in school, early childhood intervention, and outpatient settings, specializing in therapy for infants (6 months to 5 years old). My clinical interests include speech and language delays, autism spectrum disorder, fluency, and parent/caregiver coaching, consultations to support community acceptance of those with communication challenges. I tailor treatment to each child's needs, thriving on witnessing progress. As a passionate therapist, I'm dedicated to keeping therapy engaging and fun!

Why I love what I do:

I love improving the quality of life for those who lack the ability to communicate effectively.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I am excited to empower caregivers while helping children to improve their speech and language skills.

What does a Speech Therapist Do?

Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:

  • Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them
  • Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas
  • Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns
  • Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech

Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

How my practice is special

one
Holistic Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all care. Therapy is fully tailored to your child’s strengths, interests, and needs—whether we’re working on early words, social connection, or speech clarity. Sessions are playful, engaging, and designed to support the whole child, not just one skill.

two
Parent/Caregiver Support and Collaboration

You’re not just part of the process—you’re central to it. I partner with you to share strategies, celebrate progress, and build confidence so you can support communication at home and in everyday routines. Think of it as a team approach that truly includes your voice.

three
School Advocacy

Whether it’s navigating IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers, or helping your child succeed in a classroom setting, this provider offers experienced, compassionate advocacy. You’ll have someone by your side who understands the system and puts your child’s needs first.
