McKenna Colman - Pediatric Occupational Therapist in Southeast MA

Helping Kids Thrive with Occupational Therapy

Hi, I'm McKenna!

I am an occupational therapist with experience supporting both children and adults in long-term acute care and pediatric outpatient settings.
I have worked with children with sensory processing differences, fine and gross motor delays, autism spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral challenges, feeding difficulties, and complex medical needs.

I’m trained in the Handwriting Without Tears and Beckman Oral Motor approaches, and I use a play-based, family-centered approach to help each child grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential.

Why I love what I do:

I enjoy partnering with families to help make their daily routines easier, more meaningful, and more fulfilling.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

There’s nothing better than seeing kiddos shine in the spaces where they feel most at home.

What does a Occupational Therapist Do?

Occupational therapists support children in building everyday skills—so they can grow, play, and be more independent. If your child struggles with things like getting dressed, using utensils, paying attention, or staying calm in new situations, an OT can help. OTs focus on:

Fine motor skills – like holding a pencil, buttoning a shirt, or using scissors

Sensory processing – supporting kids who are extra sensitive to sounds, textures, or movement (or don’t seem to notice them at all)

Emotional regulation – helping kids manage big feelings and focus at school or home

Independence and daily skills – like brushing teeth, tying shoes, potty training, or washing hands.Occupational therapy supports kids at home, at school, and in everyday life—so they can feel confident and capable in the things they do every day
