Rachel Bigham – Pediatric Speech Therapist in Dallas, TX

Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I’m Rachel Bigham

I'm a Dallas native and Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for helping children build confidence in their communication and feeding skills. I have experience supporting children with feeding challenges, speech sound disorders, language delays, and fluency disorders, and I currently specialize in swallow studies and dysphagia at UT Southwestern. My goal is to help every child and family feel supported, confident, and successful throughout their therapy journey.

Why I love what I do:

My favorite part of my job is celebrating the moments when everything starts to click, whether it’s a new skill, a milestone, or a breakthrough, while making sure every family feels heard, supported, and valued as part of the therapy team.

Why I’m passionate about in-home care:

I’m excited to provide in-home therapy because children learn best in familiar, comfortable environments, allowing me to incorporate everyday routines into therapy while partnering closely with families to celebrate progress and support meaningful growth beyond each session.

What does a Speech Therapist Do?

Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:
Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them

Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas

Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns

Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech

Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities.

Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

How my practice is special

one
Specialized Pediatric Feeding Expertise

Feeding is my passion. With specialized training in pediatric feeding and experience performing swallow studies, I support children with picky eating, chewing and swallowing challenges, and stressful mealtimes using a comprehensive developmental and clinical approach.

two
Collaborative, Family-Centered Care

I believe great therapy starts with listening. I take the time to understand your concerns, answer your questions, and partner with you to create a treatment plan that reflects your child's needs and your family's goals.

three
Practical, Everyday Therapy

I design therapy that fits naturally into your family's daily routines by using the toys, activities, and household items you already have. This real-life approach makes it easier to carry strategies over between sessions and supports lasting progress.
