Helping Kids Thrive with Speech Therapy

Hi, I'm Sheryl!
Hello! I’m Sheryl and I'm a pediatric speech pathologist with over 10 years experience working with children and young adults from 1 through 22. I specialize in Early Intervention, schools, and outpatient settings. I am passionate about working with the neurodiverse community and incorporating sensory needs into my therapy. I believe that family-centered therapy is essential for progress and strive to make families feel welcome and seen!
Why I love what I do:
I love working with children and their families to help them build communication that increases their confidence and helps them to engage with their environment.
Why I’m passionate about in-home care:
I am excited to provide functional in-home therapy that can be easily carried over by families. I believe this model leads to faster progress and increased closeness in family relationships.
What does a Speech Therapist Do?
Speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists or SLPs) help kids communicate—whether they’re late to talk, hard to understand, or struggling to express themselves. They also support kids with feeding, swallowing, and social interaction. SLPs focus on:
• Speech sounds – helping kids say words clearly so others can understand them
• Language development – building vocabulary, following directions, and expressing ideas
• Social skills – learning how to have conversations, ask questions, advocate for their needs, and take turns
• Stuttering – supporting smoother, more confident speech
• Feeding and swallowing – helping with picky eating, chewing, swallowing challenges, and texture sensitivities
Speech therapy gives kids the tools to express themselves and connect with the people around them—at home, in school, and in the world.

How my practice is special
Family-Centric Care
The fastest way to progress is having the whole family on board; I'm commited to making sure caregivers and siblings feel included in the treatment process.
Neurodiversity Affirming Treatment
My work is supportive and understanding of a variety of neurodiverse conditions. This allows both children and families to be themselves while building communication and functioning skills, and learning how to engage with others.
Diversity-Forward Viewpoint
I have a lot of experience with diverse communities and family structures. Being respectful of cultural differences allows me to approach each client and family with care.
